Dr. RAMAN KAPUR, passed his MBBS from University College of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India, in 1979.  Thereafter he went abroad to Switzerland, Srilanka and China where he achieved Clinical experience in Acupuncture.

Dr. Kapur started Acupuncture Clinical Practice in 1982 at Rana Partap Bagh, Delhi. He has achieved excellent results in the treatment of many chronic diseases. He is the Head of Department of Acupuncture at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital where he also conducts courses on Acupuncture Therapy for medical doctors.

He is the youngest Indian Acupuncture Specialist who has been conferred the privilege of VISITING PROFESSOR to the most prestigious International University of Alternate Medicines.

On account of the results of research conducted and high rate of curative results achieved in various chronic ailments, the MEDICINA ALTERNATIVA (W.H.O.) in the year 1987, conferred the degree of M.D. (Acupuncture) to Dr. Raman Kapur at Copenhagen, Denmark.

In June, 1992, Dr. Kapur went to Taiwan to attend the 32nd Anniversary of the Medicina Alternativa. He was conferred the GOLD MEDAL for best paper presentation on the 'Role of Acupuncture in treatment of obesity' at this Conference. He is the first Indian Doctor to have been honoured with this prestigious Gold Medal.

Dr. Kapur has written a book entitled 'A GUIDE TO ACUPUNCTURE AND TISSUE CLEANSING SYSTEM' which explains Acupuncture in simple language to a layman. This book was released by Hon'ble President of India, Dr. S.D. Sharma on the 3rd November, 1993.

Dr. Kapur is the President of the India Society of Medical Acupuncturists.  He was bestowed with the honour of 'RATAN SHIROMANI AWARD-1994' at a glittering function at the FICCI on the 23rd November 1994 by the Hon'ble Ex-President of India, Giani Zail Singh.  Dr. Raman Kapur has also added another feather to his cap by treating the First lady of India, Mrs. Vimla Sharma.  He is also the Honorary Acupuncturist to the Governor of Gujrat, Sh. K.P. Singh.

On 15th of July 1997, the Hon'ble Ex President of India, Dr. S.D. Sharma released a book on 'SOFT LASERS IN MEDICAL PRACTICE' written by Dr. Raman Kapur.  This book is an excellent guide for all doctors who are using soft lasers in practice, particularly the orthopedic doctors, the acupuncturist, cosmetologist, dentist and the skin specialist.

His latest book on Acupuncture entitled "ACUPUNCTURE-CURE FOR COMMON DISEASES", was released by Smt. Sonia Gandhi, on the 20th August, 1999.  This book is an excellent guide for anybody who wishes to learn the basics of acupuncture and get treatment done, alongwith case histories of cured patients.

He is being ably assisted by his wife, Dr. Sunita Kapur who also practises acupuncture along with him. Dr. Kapur's interviews on Acupuncture have appeared in All National Dailies & also in New Magazines and Doordarshan.

He was the CHAIRMAN of the 'WORLD CONGRESS OF ACUPUNCTURE' held at New Delhi in MARCH 1995, and January 1998, and is presently the president of INDIAN SOCIETY OF MEDICAL ACUPUNCTURE.

Dr. Kapur is also the chairman of the 'International College of Acupuncture and Natural medicines', where he conducts regular courses on Acupuncture & advanced courses on acupuncture.  Presently Dr. kapur also writes a regular column for HT CITY named "ACUSENSE" in which he answers queries from readers regarding various aspects of Acupuncture.  His lattest publication was in the "INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF CLINICAL ACUPUNCTURE Vol. 1 1999 on the ROLE OF ACUPUNCTURE IN THE TREATMENT OF OBESITY published from New York.

Dr. Kapur is presently planning to launch an International journal on Clinical Acupuncture with articles of research, clinical work and scientific papers from reknowned authorities in the field of acupuncture , both in India and abroad.

He is also presently the Honorary Acupuncturist to Wang Jing Hospital, Beijing and recently the International College of Acupuncture and Natural Medicines has signed an agreement with the BEIJING COLLEGE OF ACUPUNCTURE for jointly conducting acupuncture courses for medical doctors in India.

He is also the recipient of the HAKIM AJMAL KHAN GLOBAL AWARD for the BEST ACUPUNCTURE SPECIALIST for the year 2007.  In view of the growing demand amongst doctors for learning acupuncture, he alongwith his wife Dr. Sunita Kapur have developed an online course on Acupuncture and this course will now be conducted in collaboration with the INDIRA GANDHI NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY from January, 2008.

Dr. Sunita Kapur, passed her M.B.B.S. from Lady Hardinge Medical College, in 1987 and completed her junior residency in the year 1988. Thereafter she went to China & Hongkong to get training in Acupuncture. She received her Diploma in Acupuncture in 1988 and started practising Acupuncture along with her husband, Dr. Raman Kapur. She is the fellow of Acupuncture Federation of Korea & China.

She is the honorary acupuncturist to Wangjing Hospital Beijing, China. She is proficient in the management of various chronic diseases by using Laser & Ultra Sonics. She is the fellow of International Laser Therapy Association.

She attended the 32nd Anniversary of Medicina Alternativa at Taiwan in June 1992 and presented a paper on the "Role of Acupuncture in Management of Backaches".

Her interviews with various magazines and newspapers, on the role of Acupuncture in treatment of various ailments are regularly being published. 

She is the co-author of the books- "A GUIDE TO ACUPUNCTURE AND TISSUE CLEANSING SYSTEM" & "ACUPUNCTURE-CURE FOR COMMON DISEASES."

She is the medical director of International College of Acupuncture & Natural Medicine which is affiliated to the "Acupuncture College of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine". She conducts courses on Basic and Advanced Acupuncture.
